Afterschool Snacks
Upon arrival at our Emerald Lakes Plaza facility on John R., we provide students a chance to unwind with a short session of free activity and a snack.
Homework Assistance
Supervision and assistance is offered and homework completion is encouraged.
Fitness Activities
Physical activity is indispensable to well-being and so it’s performed daily whether through martial arts or fitness activities.
Supervised Interests
We provide a variety of other activities including board games, electronic games, iPads with restricted internet access, arts and crafts, movies, reading books, creative building materials.

Childhood is but a small window in a person’s life and our staff understands that. Our goal is give laughter, joy, encouragement, support, and challenges to help each child grow to believe in their abilities and to discover themselves.

We have provided martial arts instruction to children since 1985 and Afterschool Childcare since 2000 at the same location, with the same owner. We encourage parents to visit. However, due to Covid-19, we ask that you please call ahead to make an appointment.

Parents pay for after school care on a weekly basis. No long-term contracts or obligations.

In 1985, the Troy Black Belt Academy opened to those interested in the martial arts in Troy, Michigan. In 2000, after numerous requests and inquiries by clients, we started the After School Program for school age children. Working parents have trusted our program and children have enjoyed the numerous activities that it offers. Since then, our state licensed school-age childcare program has expanded its operation and acquired a fleet of safe well-maintained vehicles, trusted staff, and a plethora of child-safe activities. It is affordably priced with no contracts to sign. With limited capacity the program fills up fast. Don’t delay and give us a call today.
